I do think that most people are givers by nature. We take our share, but most of us want to nurture relationships and giving is the way to do that Women, at least. Men...not so sure!
I think if you say "Receiver" versus a "Taker" then you would get different responses. I think a LOT of people find it hard to receive (probably the Takers).
Taker has a negative context. Isn't this Yin and Yang? Don't we need to have Givers as well as
Receivers? I think all of us should be in service to others,t to other life, to the World in general.
My personal growth seminar's process was after several days sharing intensely, being so open and vulnerable with each other and consequent bonding we were to go up to each person and tell them what they like about them and the receiver could only say "Thank you."

ADDENDUM:
Every person at the event was asked to raise their hand if prior to the exercise, they would have easily labelled themselves a "Giver".
Music, I relate to that "no more shared custody" thing 100%.
I am definitely a giver, even when it's to my detriment.
