I'm getting kind of frustrated with this.

Since May, my face has been breaking out like a teenager's.

Are you exfoliating twice per week? In addition to cleansing, you need to exfoliate and get rid of the dead skin cells. Otherwise, oils will build up and, even if your face is clean, you are going to break out. Also, over-cleansing can cause breakouts by disrupting the natural moisture balance in your skin.

I would suggest exfoliating twice per week (I like the Lancome Pure Focus line for cleansing and exfoliating), using a toner and then moisturizer after you cleanse. Again, the Lancome line of Pure Focus products is really good but a little on the expensive side. Becuase of the holidays coming up, many of the upper-end makeup and skin care lines are having free events where you can try the products and get samples. I would check the local department store to see what's available.

For spot treatment on an individual pimple, there is nothing in the world that even compares to BeneFit's Zap-it! tonic which you place on a pimple, over or under makeup.

Good luck!

I don't know how much you're willing to spend, but I use products from a store called The Body Shop.

I am actually having the same problem. Who would have thought we would get breakouts in our late twenties and thirties, but it is actually common. Mostly due to stress and not eating right. A couple of things have been working for me. Try to not reuse your wash cloths. From what I hear, if you use them for more than one or two days, the dirt can get redeposited on your face and clog your pores. I have been using the Clinique three step process for oily skin and it has been helping.

Several people I know have had great results from ProActiv ( I think that's how it's spelled).

You've gotten some pretty good advice. I've had more problems with pimples now in my twenties than I did in high school. It is annoying! Two things that help, though:

1) make sure you clean your makeup brushes regularly. I clean mine once a week with a mild soap like Ivory or Dove and warm water, and then let them air dry. This will prevent infection and re-depositing of oils and dirt on your skin.

2) change your pillowcase regularly, too. They get dirty easily from your face being on them every night.

If it's really bad, you might consider seeing a dermatologist. Sometimes you may need something that is stronger than what is available in stores.

Hope that helps!!

Does it make your face feel baby-butt soft?

I have wondered if it's just aging- like my skin somehow knows that I'm almost 30 and wants one last hurrah before it starts to get all wrinkly.

I hadn't thought about my makeup brushes either.
