I'm getting kind of frustrated with this.

Since May, my face has been breaking out like a teenager's.

I actually used to think this too, because it makes sense... That astringent with alcohol will stimulate oil production and it is kinda pointless using a moisterizer. But this is what I have learned from asking skin care professionals about this issue. Yes, using astringent with alcohol could dry out skin. But they're essential to use for oily skin because they actually absorb the oils and dirt. If you use a moisterizer after an astringent, it will replace some of the moisture you lost with the astringent, therefor it actually stops your oil glands from producing more excessive oil. I decided to give it a try and it actally worked for my oil skin. My skin feels more clean and less oily. Plus the texture looks so much better.

Shy,

1) Nothing...and I mean NOTHING will clean your pores out better than a 15 minute session in a Sauna or Steam room. Your face *will* feel baby-butt soft afterwards. If your gym doesn't have one, or if you don't have time, I think a facial steamer will do the same thing?

2) Drink plenty of pure water. At least 2 litres/day

If your skin is naturally pretty oily, the oils can get transferred to your pillowcase, especially if you sleep on your side or stomach (then your face will be hitting it). I just remember reading it somewhere and remembered to change the pillowcases more often, and it did cut down on the breakouts for me somewhat.

The Clean and Clear absorbing sheets are great. I usually use one during my lunch break and it helps a lot with the shine. It's amazing how much oil those things absorb!

They are great. But then I look at the sheet and see that so much oil has come off of my skin that the danged thing is clear. Then I am disgusted at the sad state of my skin. I am 32 years old - this should be over by now. However, my mother (who is 62) still gets pimples so I have a feeling that I will always struggle with my skin. On the other hand, oilier skin does age and wrinkle more slowly, so there's something to be thankful for. All of the women in my family look younger than they are. People always think that I am a good 4 or 5 years younger than I am which I love. Besides, my mother never took very good care of her skin and I started to get serious about skin care and anti-aging in my mid-20s, so I have a good head start on Mother Nature.
