The best laid plans of mice and single women.........!!

So I'd posted about this guy in my building.......and after much thought, decided against it.  When we were chatting in the laundry room, he didn't formally introduce himself, but he described which apartment he is in (I asked - the one with the german sheppard - because it's pretty obvious).  He said yes, he had a german sheppard, but he was going to give it away to his sister, who works part time and has more time for the dog.  I was 95% sure of where his apartment was.

A couple of Friday nights ago I went down to get something out of my car and I thought - what the heck - I'm not going to ask him out, but I am just going to knock on his door and say that I came by to say hi.  This tiny, pretty blonde opened the door (with a german sheppard) and looked absolutely shocked that someone was at the door.  She asked me if there was a problem and I explained that I just came by to say hi........she asked me if it was Gabriel and I said yes (?). It was awkward and I just said - sorry to disturb you - please just tell him that Melissa came by to say hi (he wasn't home at the time).

No response back but whatever........then earlier this week I was coming in with my dog and this blonde was directly in front of me.  She stopped and basically she said that her boyfriend's brother (Gabriel) didn't know me, but it was Lucas (at the other end of the hall) who I was looking for.  I thanked her for letting me know.........

AHHH!! My building is not the type where you just knock on someone's door......may I borrow a cup of sugar/type thing.......no one really answers/knocks on a stranger's door.

It's minor but I'm definitely not going to go knocking on more doors!! If I see him in the laundry room again that's that but otherwise really.......nooooo........!! lol

I think we should chronicle our lives as single women sometimes!! Foot in Mouth

This is from your other laundry guy thread:  "today I was taking out my dog and I saw his roommate in the lobby, who was checking me out".  Not that it matters, I was just curious how you knew who his roommate was . . . only because, I lived in a condo for five years and almost never bumped into my neighbors.  I guess that's why I was curious but then again, my only windows faced a parking lot so I never cared or noticed comings and goings (such as who went into what condo and with whom).  Yes, I have an odd thing with details.  It's annoying to others at times so pay no attention ;)  Actually, I need to work on it because I know one person who it really irritates.  She actually gets short with me when trying to tell me a story because I'm like wait, you were wearing what!?  I think maybe it's because I visualize everything but I'm tired, rambling and my eyes hurt.

Umm......yeah.......I didn't know who the roommate was but the tiny blonde asked me - are you looking for my bf's brother Gabriel? I said yes because obviously I thought it was the right apartment and obviously it wouldn't be her bf chatting me up.......!!

I think they are friends, however, because he said he'd heard that I couldn't get my car out and the apartment I went to faces onto the back of the building.  But, I guess someone from there saw me struggling and mentioned it to him.

Anyhow!!! I figured he could knock on my door if he feels like it.......everyone pretty much keeps to themselves here and I don't want any further confusion!! lol

I assumed you knew where he lived as you'd indicated that you saw "someone from his apartment watching me"?  Wrong apartment, I am guessing.  Yeah, I love the old saying that God laughs as we are making plans.  Well, since you've already indicated that people in your building "talk" you might prepare yourself for his appearing at your doorstep as the girl in the wrong apartment may well, news might travel ;)  Just out of curiosity, how did you know who his roommate was?  You indicated in another post that he was checking you out one day.

I would add a story, but I haven't had anything like this happen in months.  Thanks for the chuckle :)
