...in a relationship..

Do you ever wonder if you've lost sight of why you want to be in a relationship?

Totally agree with everything you said so no flames here. Particularly about feeling like a woman, a desirable woman. I think few things (besides pregnancy and mothering) can make a woman feel like a woman than a good man who appreciates and values you. I also like the part about being apart

- Having more people in your life. When I'm in a relationship, I have noticed that my social circle expands - his friends, his family, more couple friends, etc. I miss that also.

This is another good one I forgot about. I also tend to make friends with his friends and hang out as one big group and it is so much fun. When the relationship ends, often times so do the friendships which make breaking up even suckier. But during, it is great to combine both groups of friends or have another family to spend the holidays with.

>>He definitely puts a smile on my face<<

A really good place to start. :) You're right - don't second guess or worry too much about the future. As long as he's still making you smile, enjoy it. You deserve that.

AJ, enjoying life with C.

I just passed the 9-month mark with my boyfriend. For me, the best things about being in a relationship with him are the silly "little things," like just crashing on the couch and watching movies together, waking up in the middle of the night and having someone to snuggle up next to (especially if I'm chilly), having someone to get hugs and kisses (and sex) from, feeling good about getting all done up (hair, make-up, perfume, sexy underthings) and knowing someone is there to appreciate it, and just that overall feeling of happiness that I feel. Of course, there are also the individual little things that you love about the person you're with...for example, I love my boyfriend's scent, I love how he tells me how he feels about me, I love his sense of humor (I never thought I'd meet someone who gets as big a kick out of the stupid videos on YouTube as I do), I love his eyes, his hairdo (military-style cut), the tattoo on his arm...I guess I'd say that's one of the things that's best about being in a relationship: having someone to love little things about.

I liked your description, little things. It is also sometimes all the little things that are "wrong" that are lovable. All the little secrets you know about, but no one else does. I don't want perfect, or even anything like perfect. (-: I want those little things. (-: Good answer.

I am going to disagree with you that having a man in your life makes it have meaning.
