blessing or more

you know, sometimes a statement can be rather ambiguous. If a guy says in a letter, 'I'll be thinking of you' does it mean that he's being very loving and intimate, and perhaps carrying a certain romantic subtext? Yet quite often we also hear people saying the statement when trying to offer blessing to someone in hard times.
I got this guy - currently living in another city - saying this to me. I am not under bereavement or something, but mentioned I was not very happy lately. This is not someone I have known for a long time. Just very casual friend. But he wrote a very beautiful email, and signed off using this statement.

I try to resist reading into things such as this, but you just never know. Sorry you've not been been very happy lately; that's the pits.

I don't know if it's as beautiful where you are as it is here today, but I aim to go out and soak in some vitamin D! Maybe take in a bike ride. Exercise and sun are both great ways to pick your mood up a bit ; ) Hope you get to feeling better.

It might be a bit of both, but likely prompted by you saying you're not very happy. It's nice that he was thoughtful enough to write you such a nice e-mail.

AJ, enjoying life with C.
