OK, a shout out to the experienced bridesmaids here.

So I went out of town for the weekend for a bridal shower. It was a really nice party, the gal who organized it did a nice job. However…isn’t there always a however?... she asked for $100 a piece from each bridesmaid to cover expense. That would be a total of $600. I kind of expected a luncheon.

Can I still contribute even if I've never been a bridesmaid? ;)

It does seem excessive, that amount, I at first thought it was part of the reception, but no it was just for the bridal shower.

Girlfriend, you was robbed. I think one of you should tell the bride about her antics...

... then stand back and watch the fur fly. Can you tell I'm an instigator? :-)

(But I'm sure the bride is bright enough to do math - and know that the spread you described cost far less than $600. If I were the bride, I'd ask the hostess, "So, what did you do with the rest of the money?" because I don't have a lick of couth.)

I wanna know what happens with this! Keep us updated!

Hey sisfox,

You got taken big time! Sorry. The spread you listed could've been paid for with just $50 bucks. You and the other bridesmaids need to talk about this. Then one of you or all you need to talk to the
