Date his brother?

Hello! I've posted this on another board but haven't had any responses. I just recently was dumped by my ex of 6 months. I'm not disappointed about that relationship ending but I am disappointed that I wasn't able to get to know my ex's brother. I met him a couple of times and thought he was a really interesting guy. Now I'm wondering can I start a good friendship with his brother and see if he is interested in dating me or does that too desparate and I should wait a while before even starting a friendship? Or should I even try to get to know his brother at all?

Speaking from experience, I'd say ix-nay on the other-bray.

Brothers are off limits, in my opinion.

If someone I dated ever turned around and dated one of my sisters, I would be really hurt. (A moot point - they are both married - but we're talking hypothetical here).

My sisters are closer in age to each other, and several guys did this to them in high school. The guy would date one sister, break up with her, and date the other sister. Very uncool, and it caused a lot of tension between my sisters.

It's cliche, but there are truly a lot of fish in the sea. You will find somebody else without having to date an ex's brother, IMO.

Brothers and best friends are completely off-limits in guy law. There are good reasons for it, mostly because it creates tension.

Find someone else.
