Drinking (Wine) By Yourself

I came home from work a little late, it's a chilly New England night, and all I wanted to do is sit on the couch and relax with a glass of wine.

I always have a bottle of wine in the fridge, and I will have a glass with dinner or in the evening on occasion. I keep it fresh with a vacuum sealer, like this one: http://www.beveragefactory.com/wine/preservation/PW210045.shtml

Beringer's Chenin Blanc is a great, cheap white. It's very tasty for being so low-priced.

I don't think there's anything wrong with having a drink on your own. To me, wine is one of the great pleasures of life and I don't need to wait around for company to have it. Obviously, moderation is always key. A glass is very different from drinking a whole bottle on your own.

"I spent all Saturday baking various fall-themed food (pumpkin bread, baked apples...), so I put some mulling spices (cloves, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg) and honey with the wine in a mug and microwaved it and it was really good!"
That sounds so yummy! That's perfect for chilly fall evenings. I always feel like I'm wasting wine when I have to pour it out..now you just gave me a new idea. :)
