Early Christmas for ME!

I just had all 4 of my kids, their SO (except my sons new GF) and all 3 of my grandbabies here for dinner. (that's 10)It has been YEARS since I had all my babies in the same place,  Add in my grandbabies and I am overwhelmed with happiness.   Nana!  Nannny!   Music to my ears (although the time I went out for a smoke and the squealing started was harsh)   I don't need anything for Christmas except this to continue.  I am the happiest I have been in years.  My oldest DD came home.   I did not cry with joy til they left (and then I did it in the bathroom 'cause my son and youngest dd were home)  I feel for the family's in CT and am so very grateful for my own.   I did not ever think this would happen.  I am overwhelmed.

Replying to all~  Thanks!   I hope this can become a more regular get together.  I was a horrible mom for a number of years and when my ex left, well, I completely fell apart.  I was not there for them in almost every way. I have made progress over the past year with my three youngest kids (21, 19, 12) but my oldest DD (25) has not accepted any changes in my behavior or lifestyle until recently.  Yes, I see her two kids (3,2) on their birthdays but it's only been the last 6months or so that I've seen them a bit more often.  And I mean...she stopped by twice during nice weather and the kids roamed around the yard for 15min - 1/2 hour.  I stopped by her house a couple of times for about 20 min each time.

It's been 3yrs since we've all been under one roof for no real reason.  So, there is some forgiveness (i hope) and better days ahead.   It's been 3yrs since my oldest stepped foot in this house.

Thanks again, everyone.

I know my mom always loves it when we are all together. Unfortunately, it seems like when the rest of us are together, she ends up having to work. I really hope that won't be the case this Christmas. I'm glad you got to enjoy some time with your family.

Congrats, that's awesome. Maybe since everyone seemed to enjoy themselves so well, it can become a regular tradition(or better, happen more often).

How wonderful for you to get the whole family together!  Will they all be sticking around for a few days?
