If you've read my other post, it's obvious why today is a somewhat zoned out day for me at work...and it's also freezing (ok, not freezing, but considering I haven't dug out any of my winter scarves/coats/sweaters it was this morning), so I'm browsing winter coats and came across one from Sarah Jessica Parker's new line.

Ugh, shopping is such a nightmare all the time. I'm a "normal" size. I'm 5'4" and about 120 lbs.

Ralph Lauren jeans, really? I'll have to try those. Oh, I agree about Seven Jeans...I'm staying with my sister right now (who is the same size I am) and I tried on a pair of her Sevens and they fit well. I'll have to look at all their styles of jeans, and buy a pair. My sister's were sort of too wide leg for my taste. I'd rather a slight boot cut.
I'm only recently able to afford the designer brands, but I still love bargain shopping. :) However, I think that if I can find perfect fitting clothes that happen to be more expensive, I will invest in them :) I'm that way with shoes, too, with more emphasis on perfect. :)

"One season I'm a 2 the next season I'm a 4 and then back to a 2. Its become so crazy trying on clothes I thought I had some sort of disease making me gain and lose weight every few months, I was convinced the scale was broken!"

Oh my gosh :/ That sucks... Yeah, that would freak me out, too.
I hadn't noticed seasonal changes, but I don't have credit there, I haven't shopped during all seasons this year.

The clothing industry should regulate sizes, and all agree on a universal sizing system.

Hi,

Thanks so much for such a good discussion. I have been having lots of problems finding clothes that fit me and my budget. I am 5 feet 5 inches and 100 lbs. I have tried Charlotte Russ and I was able to find good fitting jeans. One more place I highly recommend is New york and company. I like there quality and the style. I usually shop for workplace clothes there. Plus they have a 30% coupon usable on clearance also floating on the net always.

I love Ralph Lauren - especially black or green label, but even though his stuff fits me beautifully, I'm boycotting him because of the Polo lawsuit. Sigh. One less option for an off the rack fit.

Oh, ladies - the tales we could tell. I'm 5'3" and 140 - which might seem heavy, but I'm pretty muscular (swimming, ballet). I hate that a lot of petite clothing assumes that I'm shaped like a 12 year old.

I've had good luck at Banana Republic Petite. I also love, love, love my Lucky jeans - I wear the 'Easy Rider' style but they have a bunch of styles and three different inseam lenghts.
