Primates are smart. That's their way of getting back at us for locking them up. :)

I've seen primates and apes do all sorts of disgusting things really similar to this.

Well you know how a lot of people will get upset about things of that sort. But I'll be watching it, and all I'll be thinking are possible reasons of why the male would be making such a display. Logic overrides inhibition. I love it!

And why do you think the animals would do this. I've heard of animals eating their own excrement before but cannot come up with a plausible reason as to why. And why doesn't it make them sick, like it would us? Just weird!

It's like the dog rooting through the cat box for a snack. I think they do it because they can!! And who knows what trace minerals they may be looking for.... I'll just take a multi-vitamin, thank you!!
