I don't know if it's the time of year or what, but everything is either ticking me off or making me sad (and I'm not PMSing).

Shy,

> Then I haven't gotten any responses from the guys I emailed

If a woman e-mailed me I would wait 2-3 days before I replied. This is to give her the impression that I am cool and have a life and not some geek who needs 3 computers to play FreeCell.

"Everyone keeps telling her that "all guys are like that" (lazy), but I don't think she should settle."

If most women think guys are lazy or "losers", you may be uncovering why many men have simply become women-phobic. Women have become so hyper-critical of men today, for whatever reason, that men are just opting to stay single. Better to date here and there than to marry someone who will eventually drain you of every ounce of self-respect you have. I've talked to a number of friends and acquaintances, and when I ask them what they think of when they hear the word "woman", they usually say either "sex" or "nagging". Men want to be with women who are fun to be with and don't have negative feelings about men in general. Men can detect those type of women quite well. Don't expect to ever find a decent man if you are critical of men in general...

My experience is that if they don't respond right away, they aren't going to.

They may reply right after they read it but you don't know when or how often they check their e-mail. This is problem with initiating contact. This is different to someone telling you they will send an e-mail or call you and don't.

Thats a huge bummer! $1200 a year for medicine you have to have! My dad is a diabetic and a similiar thing happened to him. His work's insurance changed and with the new crappy plan, it seems you can only get your prescriptions through the mail (?! not sure if he's researched this fully yet...) But anyway, he's waiting for diabetes stuff and other medicine through the mail and it never comes on time AND its all more expensive than before!

Yep, $1200 a year is way too much for someone who is 28 and generally healthy.

I know nothing of Kansas City. Are there plenty of available men??? I don't know what the big mystery is either. My girlfriends and I are experiencing all of the same dating conundrums--you are not alone. We are all attractive and with the exception of myself(not that I think I am fairing poorly, I am not as career oriented), are all very successful.

When I do something nice and unexpected for someone, my spirits are always lifted. Sometimes, I don't even make my identity known. I realize this may seem corny but, it really does make me feel better. Aside from that, sit at home and eat your ice cream! You're an adult, you're allowed!

Girl, I have had an an epiphany! You should start waiting tables or bartend at a swanky restaurant part time. It could potentially rectify both of your woes, meeting men and, money ; )
