Funny OLD article

This should probably go on the OLD board, but I know that you regulars here will like it.  It's in the over-50 section on HuffPost, but it really applies to all ages. The title is "Sex and the 60 year old, part I" and it's about the "great" guys that the author's friend encountered on OLD.  Some of my favs:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/renee-fisher/online-dating-over-50_b_3443781.html

This one is from "Lookin for Busty."  "I am an older, independent very safe straight man in good shape and I like very much the younger woman who is busty, local and in very good shape for extra-curricular activities."

Hey LFB, there are about 10,000 other guys waiting in line for her also. Good luck.

"I'd like to volunteer this; I look and act a lot younger than I actually am."

I'd like to volunteer this: 95 percent of people over the age of 45 would probably write exactly the same thing about themselves. The other 5 percent would use capital letters when they write the words "a lot."

From me (musiclover12):  Yeah, have you ever seen an OLD profile where the person says that they look OLDER than they are, or they look exactly their age?  lol  That would be so refreshing.

What I love the most are the guys whose profile picture is their six pack abs.  Gotta' love the bathroom mirror shots lol.  I've had some sleezoids email me on POF and I just click delete, delete, and delete.  SMH

I always end up reading the comments afterward, which are usually brutal if the subject is singles, women without children, or teachers. People are so mean sometimes and hide behind a computer to say whatever they want. I personally don't think anyone truly gets dating past 25, or online dating, unless they've been there recently.

Bottom line is either one of them is looking for a trophy to show off. But now we got the lady cougars that are showing off their younger men too. I say "whateva gets them thru the nite"

What is this OLD you all speak of? I googled it and didn't come up with anything.

Ha, ha, xxxs--I think you are right.  Except there is this local old rich guy (still good looking for his age, but definitely OLD!) who is dating a woman about 40 yrs. younger than he is who kind of looks like a bimbo and has no apparent job (aspiring actress, my foot).  He is pretty much making a fool of himself in the public eye--people are making jokes about him all the time.  I think that with the movie star or very rich man, what people assume is that the young woman is dating the old man to get his money--it might not be true.  I mean, my best friend married a guy who is 26 yrs older than she is and he wasn't rich, just upper middle class--but they just enjoyed each other's company.  but I think it's more rare than common that people with a big age difference will find each other and be compatible--so I think it's fine if people are open minded and will accept all age differences, but you do have to wonder about the guys who ONLY want a woman who is 10-20 yrs younger than themselves.  of course we know why they do it but when they aren't getting any dates, I wonder why they don't stop to consider that instead of being lonely, maybe they should expand their search to women in their own age group.

The double standard is most interesting.  Take two 60 year olds both "date" young hot women.  One is categorized as "dirty old man'  the other as enlightened educated and wonderful the difference #1 is your neighbor who works an ordinary job; the other is a star or fabulously wealthy.

Oh, it is just so tiresome, isn't it? People just don't understand that phenomenon of not being able to look at oneself objectively. After all, they've looked in the mirror every day of their life, so they don't notice how old they look--they are still remembering what they looked like at 28. And it's esepcially pitiful when an old fat guy is so desperately trying to recapture his long-gone youth by trying to date much younger women, who are generally not interested anyway. I will say though, that there was one man I met via OLD who claimed to look younger, and in fact, he did when I met him. But that was the only time ever.

I especially hate the sleezy usernames, too. I saw one profile whose name was something like 4play8inch. And of course he was looking for much younger women, and to me, was just gross.

That is a funny article!  Then I read the blog about "sex in an empty nest" which is funny, too.

I haven't looked at OLD for many years, but I always loved the "code" words......like reubenesque, which is a nice way of saying way overweight!!!
