I saw this book and read some excerpts on Amazon. To me, it's pretty much like every book I've picked up like this. The author feels that it's important to set a time-frame, and as the blurb says, "Forget waiting for Mr. Right! You can go out and find "The One" yourself when you follow this plan."

I know this has been discussed before, but have you ever know anyone in the history of love, who started looking for love or marriage and found it in 365 days by following a plan?

A very good book I read a number of years ago, With or Without a Man, has a wonderful list in it, something like "The Nine Messages Women Get". One of them is "Find a man!" Another one is, "You'll only meet him when you stop looking." The author points out how opposite those two messages are.

Florida Girl,

I have a similar book by Kathy Gibbons who made a plan and married within a  year. I tried it. Didn't work. Now I think I need to be more specific with my 'want' list. Maybe will try again.

I still want to marry but I'm not depressed because I'm not married. Trying to enjoy what I have now which is a lot. Hopeful but not trying really. Feels like looking for a needle in a haystack.

This is another theme I see in many self-help books. It's the "I tried this and it happened to work for me, so it should work for you." It is alluring isn't it? Just follow this plan (similar to following a diet or a job search) and you will find him. And now you're feeling you need to be more specific with your want list. Again, we end up feeling as if we have failed, or that we are flawed.

The thing is, there are some very good self help books out there, I'm not knocking all of them.
