Mom did this for the grandkids a few years ago - except the money was locked up in a Chinese puzzle sort of thing. They had to solve the puzzle to get the money out.
But for some reason people feel the need to buy me new scents that I would NEVER in my life wear like Gardenia or something. I love their aromatherapy Jasmine Vanilla scent but it's always like some yucky flowery scent something I would never use.
I only bought one gift card this year for my dad. Mom said he needs these handle grips for his Harley and they are 60 bucks...well my brother and sister didnt want to go in on it (cant afford 20 bucks) so I got him half of the total in a gift cert with the instructions that it go towards his grips. The only thing I asked for this year was gift certs, money or clothes. I'm moving in 6 months and almost all of my stuff will be sold anyway. I dont want a lot of extras (like cookware or bakeware that I always get) when I can get it after I've situated, married and moved. I think gift certs and cash are good ideas and I try to get cards from stores I know people will spend it (Harley, favorite restaurants, etc).
