A good problem to have!

Late last year, I took over as organizer of 3 different singles groups whose original organizers didn't want to run them any longer. Then just after NYD I grandfathered them together into a new group and re-named it Singles Who Make Things. Much of the reason why I did so is because there aren't any other local groups for single crafters---I've been sewing since 1979, woodworking since 1985, and metalworking since 1992, so I know what I'm talking about---but also because the group's focus is intended to be something other than the nightclub scene.
Well, as new members began to apply to the group, I quickly learned there's a whole demographic out there who don't like the nightclub scene any more than I do, because it makes us feel left out. Surprise surprise, the new group is now critically short of MEN---which is pretty much the opposite of the usual problem most singles groups have!
We haven't got enough people for a good-sized meetup yet, but the people who've been admitted to the group seem like really nice people, not the usual crowd who just want to guzzle beer and get laid.
But the point is... it looks like I found the missing mojo. I already have plans for combined meetups with 2 other singles groups whose focus is non-alcohol. :smileyvery-happy:
