WOW! I stumbled upon this blog by a woman in the UK. She referes to herself as "Plankton--Life at the bottom of the sexual food chain." I think she's in her 40s. Anyway, great stuff and lots of comments.

That is a good read.. thanks for the link... It is always an eye opening experience as a man to read what the silly things we do can mean to our dates... I always hope that I learn from such posts and don't make the same mistakes, and yet always cringe when I read something and remember having done something similar, often with purely innocent and confused intention... Dating is hard!! :-)

I personally liked this entry:

"Every day one online site sends me profiles of possible “matches” and without exception these men list outdoor activities as if a man who fancies a spot of hiking, sailing and mountain biking is the bag of gold at the end of every woman’s rainbow.  I don’t get it.  I hate outdoor activities.  I like being indoors, preferably sitting still with a book or  jolly conversation.  These men all refer to “ladies” not women, which gives me the shivers, and live miles away in places like Cheshire."

I'm sure there are plenty of women who love the outdoorsy athletic stuff but that isn't me either.  I do like the beach and I like being out in nature as far as taking a walk or going to a park or something but I'm not sporty so when they start talking about hiking, fishing & especially camping, forget it.

@Music, I saw that too, and that would also be me. Sure, I like getting out into nature, but at the end of the day, I'm ready to retire to the cabin with running water. And I detest camping. I know many people like it, but I don't, not even in an RV. I also don't want to go on 40-mile bike rides, but a leisurely ride around a historic district would be fun. I'm not even big on sailing.

LOL It's funny how many men and women want to portray themselves as uber-active.  Running triathlons, climbing Mt. Everest.  That is not me.  I am not a couch potatoe, but do not feel I need to prove to the world that I never sit down.  I love to read, that's me.  I think some people focus far too much on the *activities* they want to do with their partner, rather than sharing values and attraction.  I will take a guy who *gets* me and lets me do my thing any day over someone who wants to be attached at the hip. It really is not all that important that you both like to hike or work in the yard.  Those are "nice to have" but not essential.
