As usual, this day could not come fast enough!

What's everyone up to this weekend?

I'm conflicted.

I think that you should not go home just to see him. Like you said, you need a reason to go home. From what you have said, it does not seem to me like he has made specific plans. Him asking you if you will be in town is not the same as him saying, "Shy, I would love to see you again. I was hoping that you would join me for dinner and a (movie, show, drink, etc.) this weekend." If you had already planned on going and then just casually seeing him, that would be one thing. If you had not other reason to return home, I can't see that he has really given you one (and who wants the mother issues).

As for me - the ex and I are going to the outlet malls tomorrow. Woo-hoo! My parents know that money is a little tight right now because of my condo special assessments so they gave me some birthday money early. I have not bought much in the way of new clothes since losing the 30 pounds and really need some new clothes. Tomorrow night some friends are having a Wig and Trim party. Should be fun - tonight I am taking it easy and resting the knee. I have physical therapy this afternoon, so I'll need it.

I am actually taking a long weekend. They are expecting 300,000 people at an immigration rally in downtown Chicago on Monday and the police are telling people to avoid the area. I was going to leave work at noon for physical therapy anyway, so I just took the day off. The police estimated that 10,000 people would show up for the last immigration rally and it ended up being almost 50,000 - so who knows what will happen on Monday.

Shy - I think you should go. I don't think it makes you seem "easy" (as you defined it) -- I think it just confirms your interest. How fun - I'm excited for you. :)

Jules -- we have an immigration rally here on Monday, and they expect 50,000 people downtown. (They handed out permits for 50,000 - so it could be more). Should be interesting.

This weekend, I have three groups of people to see tonight for happy hours. Tomorrow, I'm going house hunting for the first time with my realtor (yay!) and I have a date tomorrow night with someone who gets my heart pumping (yay! again). Sunday is my nephew's 4th birthday - so I'll be celebrating with him. Should be a great weekend.

Is it the same guy that you talked about during the week? Well, it looks like you're on a roll.... Happy Friday.

I've have one helluva hangover/headache today. Yesterday, I completed my first year of graduate school!! So me and 5 others started the party at my place, moved to one of the top steakhouses in Chicago (the Miami Heat was there last night...didnt' see Shaq though), and then went to a few other bars/clubs along the way. Found out I hate this certain club and am not upset that I wont be goin back.

My weekend...well...get over this hangover and then I'm going home for a month. Will be busy with family issues and such and my parents dont have internet at their new house yet, so I will probably be sporadic in my presence here.

This is the guy who wanted me to meet him and his friends for happy hour on our second date. After obsessing for a bit about whether that meant he was into me or not, I decided to go - and we ended up having a great time. We did the happy hour, and then had dinner and drinks alone after that.

Then, we had a little miscommunication - neither of us thought the other was interested. (He confirmed what I already knew -- I am hard to read). He finally just came right out and asked, which was really refreshing. Now that we've established that we're both interested, I'm a lot calmer about the whole thing and just having fun getting to know someone new. He's been e-mailing and calling quite a bit, too, which is good.

Me too!!! although it's not really over yet, finals week is next week. I'm somewhat excited and nervous. I have one more year left to finish :) On the side note, my ex decided to visit me in a couple weekends. It was a mutual break up, and I think I posted the story a while ago. We've been talking once a week, and I'm glad he's visiting, but at the same time, it's going to be weird. We did talk (when we break up) about that we should figure something out before we see each other about what can we do/not do. I have never slept with him (making out of course..:). I think the more I think about it, my gut is saying he's not the guy, but somewhere I am afraid if I'm being too picky.
argh!!!

I think he was trying to tell me he wanted to see me without specifically asking me to drive almost two hours to do it- as in he didn't want to inconvenience me.

Halfway isn't an option b/c it's a tiny town with even LESS to do than back home!
