Any exciting plans this weekend? Anything special planned for Mother's Day?
I'm scrambling today b/c I've been so busy getting a play ready that my class has been doing, I forgot all about having them do something for Mother's Day. So, we're writing poems today. I had two kids tell me that they don't know what their mother is like! These mothers are around (they even have volunteered in my room), so why don't they know how to describe her? Sad, very sad.

hmmm... i think we'll probably hit a restaurant as a family on sunday. i REALLY need to find my mom a gift... geez, i wish mother's day, my sis' bday, my mom's bday, my dad's bday and father's day weren't all within a 3 month period...
I forgot mother's day again (too late to mail something now!). I always do. My brother has the send a bouquet of flowers sewn up...so I am always at a loss. I usually just call, say I owe you one...and take her to dinner/play next time she is town. I'd love to show up on her doorstep w/a present and surprise her. Its only a 4 hr drive - but I don't have a car and I have a BIG presentation on monday. We didn't do anything for her 60th birthday this year...so I am feeling like a terrible daughter. I know I am when you consider all my mother has done and the sacrifices. But she also knows that whenever she needs me or asks anything of me - I am there. Except the time I was in Europe...lol...
Gotta get back to work!! If we were accountants, tax season would be upon us so I'll be busy in the next few weeks. Got a date tonight, opera on sat, psychic fair and helping my friend (who's getting married next w/end) with decorations sun night...
So I'm gonna be a busy bee...buzz, buzz, buzz...

My mom is here with me, and I asked her what she would like for Mother's Day and she said she would like to see me sleep all weekend. (I've had a sinus/ear/upper respirtory infection since March.)
Also, there is a really cute Beanie Baby bear for Mother's Day that would be a cute way to say "thinking of you".
I am so glad it's Friday and I don't have to see my kids for a few days, I don't know what to do. I have moved from aserbic to caustic to just plain mean...
14 more days! I wonder if I can call in sick till the end of school?
I've decided not to go home for Mother's Day. I feel like an awful daughter. I just really don't feel like it, and they are forecasting more storms to pop up places. I don't want to be on the road when that happens. I also just emailed my mom to tell her I can't come home next weekend for her graduation (from a computer class- who graduates from a class??). I bought tickets for the Brooks and Dunn concert months ago before she even gave me a date for the graduation. Again, I feel like an awful daughter, but I never do anything fun! I take the chance when I can.
Today I think I'm going to look for some summer clothes. From my calculations, I have a little extra money this month- how, I'm not sure- and there are some shoes I saw at Payless that are just calling my name!
It's Def Leppard for me and my best friend in a couple weeks; they played in Philly in the beginning of APRIL -- during the week! I told her to go to the show, have fun and ogle a bit for me. Then I found out they'll be in Houston, so she's flying down and we're driving back a couple days after that.
As for the kids, all bets are off. I have permission from the principal to kick out my bitter pills, and I just found out that one of my girls is pregnant. She's 15 (and in 8th grade?!). I was shocked -- my theory is that if I ain't gettin' any, neither are they, and my brain is very happy. I was wrong on this one! And I have some students in that class that have no tact whatsoever.
We're in till the end of the month. I say a prayer daily that I don't decide to kill any and hide the bodies. :-)
I have had a very relaxing weekend, so hopefully my kids will benefit. I went shopping yesterday, and since Penney's was having a sale, I could get LOTS of new clothes. $150 worth for $75. Then I got my new shoes (four pair) from Payless. They were on sale too. I usually don't spent that much money on myself all at once, but I really needed some new clothes. I'm still wearing some stuff from high school.
Back to my house cleaning now. Ick.
Tomorrow...another day closer to summer break!
