What's everyone up to this weekend?

I was supposed to go to the lake with my sisters, but it looks like we may just end up going shopping instead.

We have a tax-free shopping weekend coming up, too - I'm just not sure when it is...I think it might be next weekend.

My weekend will be mellow - I am going to try to go see Talladega Nights and I am having lunch with my dad. I hope that the weather stays nice so that I can lay out by my pool tomorrow.

My travel schedule is getting crazy again. I'll be gone 8/19-8/20 for a wedding, 8/23-8/24 for work, 9/1-9/3 for a wedding, 9/19-9/20 for work and 9/25-9/27 for work.

Blech. Luckily I am taking the week after next off so that I can relax a bit. My first week of vacation in 7 years (I usually just take a day or two and take 4 or 5 day trips).

PA doesn't tax clothing which is really nice!

I'm working all weekend...yey.

I've never heard of tax-free weekend. I might have to lobby the state for something like that! It would help a lot with my house purchases.

I'm celebrating my dad's 65th birthday at a family dinner out (seafood - yum), I have a wedding to attend tomorrow and perhaps a party after that, and I have a date with a new guy on Sunday. Busy, busy, busy.

Somewhere in there, I need to start packing!! I move on the 15th, and I've only packed two boxes - yikes. Slacker.

The tax free is only on school related items- clothes, school supplies, computers, etc.

Ah, well, tax-free clothes would be nice as well.

I'm hiring movers - I just have to do the packing. I've moved so many times - I'm really burned out on it.

Today I looked around at a ritz shopping center and tomorrow I might go to the mall. I think our tax free weekend is closer to when school starts in a couple of weeks. I hope you have shopping!!!

Now that you say that, I'm sure we've had this conversation before.

That's one of the things that I miss about living in Boston. I remember when my sister came to visit me and she bought a shirt at the Gap and could not get over the fact that she did not have to pay any sales tax. Our sales tax in Chicago is 9% - insane. However, our real estate taxes are pretty reasonable compared to a lot of other cities so I guess that it benefits us homeowners.
