I thought I would share this morning's vista from my school. I am sitting here, at my desk. The kids are out for recess. I am looking out my southern windows. The snow from last week is still covering the ground. There is a windmill a quarter of a mile from the school. I can see it clearly in the sunshine. In the area surrounding the windmill are 18 antelope. They are grazing on the grasses beneath the snow. Scenes like this make it a lot easier to live in the middle of nowhere.

That sure as heck beats what I see from my office, which is a windswept golf course. We haven't had enough snow to make it pretty, just dirty. The geese have contributed their feathers and droppings, the joggers have left their water bottles and candy wrappers, and the wind has carried in othe assorted flotsam and jetsum. Ah, winter!

Sounds very nice. I'm looking out at city rooftops -- I like the sound of your view better.

Sounds very nice! I bet those scenes make it worth it, just seeing the occasional deer or armadillo around here amaze me.

No snow here, just a misty rain all weekend. So I get to look out the window and see the highway and a bunch of clouds and gray everywhere.

The windows out of my classroom look upon a beautiful parking lot and a busy street.

I look out at tall buildings and rooftops from my office. But, if I go to one side of the building and peer just right out of a window and between the adjacent buildings, I have a great view of the mountains! This always helps remind me why I work in the city but don't live there!

I am peering out the window on what was once a healthy forest acre, surrounding my house on three sides. The National Guard has finally cleared away the fallen trees
and now if I listen,
at this time of night,
I can hear the sound
of waves crashing and the wind rolling across the beach.
6 months ago the waves crashed into my backyard,
regardless of the 23 feet it had to climb
to make my 2 blocks from the beach
water-front property.
I look past the window
and ignore the destruction
only to look for
regrowth
of the hibiscus flowers
who, in vibrant red
scream...
We have arrived.
