Everything is ok--the only problem I had was that my roof started leaking again.  We didn't lose power and my son was very disappointed that school wasn't canceled today.  He actually asked me "if the lights go out, can I still plug things in?"  Duh!  this is an A student?  lol  A lot of people in surrounding towns did lose power though.  I was pretty bored being stuck in the house--so bored that I cleaned.

I am amazed seeing the flooding in NYC.

I'm glad to hear that you guys are safe. Well, you're in a leaky house but also a very clean one ;] I bet Free is w/o power, if she's even at home. She may have evacuated and is just temporarily w/o internet access.

Another East Coaster here, but I live far enough inland that flooding wasn't an issue.  I didn't lose my power either!  Lots of trees down in my town, but that's to be expected.

I would have told him, "Well, you can plug it in but it's still not gonna work!"  I'm kinda smart aleckey that way, though!

I imagine Free is without power.  Hopefully she found a safe place to go and will be able to return home shortlly.

Glad to hear everyone is with us and safe. As I scan the news coverage of this I can't help but wonder we (meaning the country as a whole) was better prepared for this compared to Katrina and if the recovery efforts will be better as well. I certainly hope so.
