When I start thinking about ex boyfriends, that's when I know I'm lonely.

I don't really think about exes specifically anymore, but I do remember what it felt like to be comfortable in a relationship. It usually hits me on those Saturday nights when I didn't get around to planning an evening out and I find myself at home watching movies.
Couples in the grocery store get me, too -- it's usually when I see a cute guy come around the corner and I get all ready to smile and be cute, and then his wife or girlfriend comes around the corner right behind him. D'oh.
AJ, enjoying life with C.
I got triggered yesterday in dance.
Two of the dancers, both of them much younger than I, were talking about their impending marriage or bf.
I felt lonely after that.
I hugged a professor once.
I know I am lonely when I want to get out of the house and do something, and can't find someone who wants/is available to hang out and do something fun.
Oh yes, I hate it when the girlfriend or wife comes around the corner!
I don't know where those single people are either!
I did make some dinner plans for next Wed, and drink plans for next Thurs.
Hi Hillary,
I totally agree. Being lonely is a mental state of mind whereas being alone is a physical state. It is much easier to hide your loneliness in a relationship.
