How long has everyone been single for

Just wondering the length of time that everyone on this board has been single for. I'm not counting casual dating experiences but just the length of time you've been dating or alone since your last real relationship. For me it's been almost a year and a half (wow! this is the longest time I have been) not counting kind of dating that guy in the Navy when he was on deployment this year but basically he wasn't around for the full first half of the year and then when he got back we barely hung out and then decided to call it quits soon thereafter. Is a year and a half a long time to be single? I'm thinking it is for me at least.

That kind of depends on what you call "casual" and "real."
Well, it all depends on your definitions of course ;-). My last LTR ended over 9 years ago (I define a LTR as lasting at least 2 years). I've had a number of relationships lasting anywhere from 2 to 18 months since then.
So a year and a half doesn't seem that long to me, LOL!

It's kind of funny to see how everyone defines 'relationship' and 'single'.
I consider single as in not seeing somebody exclusively. If you're dating for a month but only dating each other and proceeding forward, then that's not being single. If you've been dating for a month but it's understood that you can both see other people, then you're single. That's how I personally define it.
That said...7 months or so? I haven't really been counting, haha. This is the longest ever for me, after 6 years of serious relationships and I'm very much content with being single. Granted I would mind if a greay guy fell in my lap right now but I'm not 'trying'.
I'd rather be single for the rest of my life with the hope of finding a great guy than to be stuck in any one of my past relationships and unhappy.

LOL. I wouldn't mind a great guy falling in my lap, either. ;)

Oh, so you had the talk and it went well, I guess! I remember you posting about the fact that you were going to have it, but don't remember seeing anything about the outcome. Glad to hear it!
