I feel pretty, Oh so pretty...

Today is a pretty day. I can never quite put my finger on what makes pretty days into pretty days, but today is definitely one of them. Maybe it's the fact that I tried on some adorable clothes at Target today and couldn't buy any because nothing fit right...too big! Maybe it's just because I'm wearing black and I know it's slimming. Maybe it's just because I took a little more time on my makeup. Who knows. But I like it!

So, what makes you feel pretty? How do you know when you're having a pretty day? Can every day be a pretty day?

For me, I feel pretty when I wear an outfit that's much more stylish than my usual t-shirt and shorts. If I'm wearing something cute and sexy, I feel much more attractive and judging by some of the reactions I've gotten, my increased confidence in my appearance shows.

In answer to one of your questions, for me it's not possible for every day to be a pretty day. There are a good 3 or 4 days a month where I feel too grouchy and miserable to possibly feel pretty!

I really don't have many "stylish" clothes. Maybe that's the problem. This is sad, but most of my stuff has been given to me by my mother. She buys stuff because it's cheap, not because she thinks I'll like it. I also have a lot of stuff that I wore in high school (t-shirts mostly), which I'm sure cannot possibly be stylish.

The problem is, the cute stuff is just so darn expensive!

Do you have a Nordstrom Rack near you? I've gotten some really cute things for anywhere from $9 to $13.

I probably do, but I don't really know. I am fairly good at finding deals when I need them, I guess the problem is that so much stuff these days is made for teesy weensy girls with no chest. Usually what's left on the clearance rack is too small for me, which makes me hunt. I'm good at it usually, but my chest really limits me. Have you noticed how much of the cute stuff requires going braless??? You aren't gonna see me do that!! I get new "trendy" clothes only when I can find them on clearance. Otherwise, I buy the staples at Walmart.

I am slowly building up my wardrobe, but it takes time. Have you ever watched What Not To Wear on TLC?? They give you $5,000 for a new wardrobe if you follow their rules. My mother told me she was going to nominate me for that! I didn't point out to her that 1)She has bought all of the ugly clothes in my wardrobe and I only wear them because I feel obligated and 2) I don't dress to impress when I go home. It's too much effort for nothing. Still, that $5,000 would be nice!

I had to bust up laughing when I read your comment about cute stuff for "girls with no chest".

R. & I went to JCPenney outlet near him so I could look for stuff... however, while *I* could find nothing I wanted (the store didn't carry my brand), *he* found jeans he could wear to work. Go figure.

Anyway, I had to keep myself amused... walking through a lingerie section can do that... bras in 34-AA?! And those little tiny tank tops with spaghetti straps?! No thanks. Give me stuff with HARDWARE!

I pulled one off the rack as we were leaving, held it up and said, "What do you think? Is it me?" and he said, "I'm sorry!" and then cracked up laughing. So a good laugh was had...

And I ended up with a wallet for my CDs, because he is sneaky (in a good way).

Shy -- does the cheek count?

I know what you mean. I have a big chest too and it's hard to fit into some tops I've tried. A couple of times I almost got stuck in shirts that I really wanted to squeeze myself into. I have to try on at least 10 tops to find one that looks good!

I've only seen What Not To Wear once. When is it on? I'd plan to watch it if I only knew when I could catch it.

Not for me. Honestly, I never feel "pretty" b/c I know I am NOT. When my hair does what I want it to - I feel more attractive. I guess the closest I come to "pretty" days is when I walk into a bar and I see all the men looking at me. I usually figure that my shirt is showing too much cleavage or something like that...

On the cheek?? Hmm...getting closer. Gotta give you credit for that. Have you ever kissed him on the cheek before?

I have a Penney's Outlet here and sometimes I find things there, but they are usually for other people. I got my 12 year old sister three t-shirts for $9, but I'm afraid they are going to be too small (they were larges!). I figure that if they don't fit her, they'll fit my six year old niece!

The one here usually only has old lady type stuff. My mother loves the place. Go figure.

I don't think I've ever gotten stuck in a top, but I remember a time in college when I friend of mind convinced me to try on a dress a size smaller than I wanted, and they just about had to cut the thing off of me!

What Not to Wear is on Fridays at 10 (eastern). Right now, they're in reruns, but since you've only seen it once, that shouldn't matter to you!

Go, dear, if you weren't attractive, they wouldn't be looking!

Good hair days...those are the best.
