So, as I mentioned in my "crushes" post, I have been doing some flirting.

I find that I do my best flirting when I push my fears and anxieties aside go in with confidence. I convince myself that I'm charming and attractive and the guy is flattered that I'm paying attention to him. I maintain eye contact, ask questions about him, really listen to what he's saying and reply, but also keep things light and humorous. I also don't overdo it by coming across as desperate. When it's flirtation with someone I hardly know I won't get racy or overly suggestive.

I try to convey the message that I'm interested in getting to know the guy and will put some time into trying to win him over with my charm, but at the end of the day, if he's not returning the signals, then I won't be devastated and will move on. I want the guy to know that I am interested in him, but I also want to convey that I'm a great catch.

So I think the most important thing is to have the appropriate mindset, which is all about having fun and not getting too nervous or serious. As far as concrete things, again, I maintain eye contact, smile, laugh, and project confidence. If you feel comfortable, touch his shoulder or arm when he says something funny or quirky.

Have fun with the mating dance and let us know how it goes!
