I saw a guy...

in my building the past two mornings. He parks his car near me. I really like his look/style. I have not been able to see if he has a ring. If I see him again, what can I do start something up? (p.s., don't say, "smiling gets you everywhere!" because trust me, I smile my head off and it gets me nowhere).

Ask about his car. Men love it when you pay attention to their toys.

Hmmm...let's see....

You could ask him if he just moved in...the car idea was a good one, but be careful - you don't want him to think you're just interested in him because he has a BMW.

eh, forget it, I'm sure he's in a relationship. no one around here is single. especially in this building, it's like couple land.

Well I think there is nothing wrong with smiling and saying hello. If you continue doing that, he should respond and begin to get curious about you and want to know more if he's interested. If he's not, then he's not really that interested, I would think. It has to be mutual but you have to give him something to respond to. If you are and he's not responding then he may not be available.

I would think twice before dating someone in my own building.
Imagine if things did not workout between you two. Would you feel comfortable seeing him with a new GF or simply having fun with friends...
