I started taking care of myself today!

So today I decided that I would go back to Weight Watchers and not give up this time. I know it works as I lost 20 lbs doing it before and I know I can do it again. Just going to the meeting and getting into it again is already making a difference in how I feel about it. Having a male leader was a little different than my experience with female leaders but I liked him. A very charismatic guy.

I'm gonna look hot in that new cocktail dress I bought! :-D

What are you doing to take care of yourself? Body, mind or spirit?

I am taking care of my mind and spirit by giving myself permission to:
- leave work at work
- say no to social invitations when I don't really want to go
- sit on the couch once in awhile and read a great magazine or book
- say what I really feel and mean rather than trying to people please so much (still working on this one with my boss who is seriously pushing my buttons today)

AJ, enjoying life with C.

Good for you! :-) It feels great to be proactive about being healthy.

For Body~
I've been eating the South Beach way for a couple years now (not as strict as their rules are b/c i got used to my limits). I try to exercise at least once a week but ideally twice.

For Mind and Spirit~
Most importantly, slowing down, appreciating all of the special little moments

I'm reading some scriptures and also a book which I guess is a sort of self help book on a particular issue I dealt with in my last long term relationship that I need to deal with before I can probably truly have a good relationship with someone else

I have a hard time leaving work at work too. That can be really stressful after awhile and sometimes a step back is just what is needed.

Ah a good book that isnt a textbook...oh how I wish. Actually I'm still battling Anna Karenina and now I've started One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest. In May...when school is over for a month...

Teachers are saints, thats all I have to say :)

A good drink is good every now and then...if only I could find my favorite bottle of wine in Chicago, I'll be good.

I think we all need to slow down more. Good for you!

Good for you! That's a great feeling when you make the decision to do something that's good for you and only prioritizes you. It is a decision and no matter what people say, it's not easy.
The weather is finally starting to look like spring here and I'm SO thankful for that. That means I can get out and run without freezing which always makes me feel better. :)

I am taking care of my body by finally sticking to healthier eating and excersize habits, which fo me is hard, but it's been 4 months, and I'm doing (and feeling!) great.

I am taking care of my mind by going back to school. I signed up for classes this week, and I'm nervous and excited.

I am taking care of my spirit by finally letting go of the guilt that isn't mine to hold onto. I'm not letting other people's problems steal my joy anymore.

All of this combined has made such a huge difference in my life, I can't wait for the next stage to unfold!
