I learned all about the real reason behind his penis envy theory, definitely not the popular known reason that is taught to people. Sad really, there is such a fallacy about it.
Nothing about boob envy. The period of time that he lived didnt allow for it.
Actually, Freud was doing therapy with women and he found that their "hysteria" was due to severe sexual abuse histories. He published his findings but the Victorian age wouldnt accept this because god forbid we think that thousands of women and children are abused everyday in our perfect conservative society. So he had to rewrite his theory and explain that these women had "penis envy" as the reasons for their behavior. Sick! He was among the first to realize the pervasive problem of sexual abuse and he was forced to take it all back and make something else up.
>>>Oh I dunno.. probably go shopping, talk on the phone with my friends for hours on the phone about the latest injustice that happened to me at work or with my latest girlfriend, spend hours trying to get ready for going out with the guys trying to figure out what to wear and what colors and if Joe will be wearing the same thing, promising myself that to go on that diet and workout tomorrow, and listen to my friend who is going through his woman troubles even though he just goes on-and-on-and-on about the same thing all the time but I'm his friend so I have to listen to him ..

What on earth are you talking about? Guys don't "shop," talk on the phone for hours or spend hours getting ready to go out. That's women's behavior.
There is this great book titled, "Self Made Man" which was written by a lesbian who passed as a man for 1.5 years. She joined a blue collar bowling league, dated, went to strip clubs, sold door-to-door, stayed in a monastery, and joined a men's group. I like her insights and observations on the struggles of being a man.
