... try on some of your summer clothes that looked so cute a year ago.

I did this today in preparation for a pre-vacation shopping trip later. It did not go well. I don't understand, all my winter clothes fit fine- dang jeans and sweaters! This may not be a problem for those of you who have lost weight lately but I'm a little frustrated. I don't understand how your jeans can still fit but your shorts are tight?
Grrrr.

So, either I lose 10 lbs. in 10 days or I wear a lot of skirts.

I try not to vent about non-related topics around here but I'm taking my turn today.

I have to buy all new summer shorts and stuff - the ones I had have disappeared.

It's reassuring to know I'm not the only one. :-)

I'm thinking your theory on clothes shrinking if you don't wear them is 100% true. The shorts get jealous of the jeans and shrink to get back at you!

And yes, thank goodness our lives don't revolve around men...they really couldn't understand this!

What a great excuse to vamp up the summer wardrobe though! :)

Might I recommend Target for swim suits. I found one there today that I absolutely LOVE and that is very very rare for me and swim suits. I love it so much I'm considering writing a love letter to Isaac Mizrahi!

Oh I definitely understand the boobage issue. This one is a halter tankini and it's a really dark red color. The halter provides a lot of, er, upper body support, too. :-) I would usually NEVER wear a bright color (I'm a black bathing suit girl) but this one somehow did the job, well. It does show a little more chest than I'm used to but I've been very modest suit-wise in the past so it's more to do with me and less to do with how revealing it actually is.

I loathe swimming suits. I was forced to buy one when I went to Hawaii; my mother actually bought it because she knew I was protesting it too much and wouldnt buy it on my own (didnt do too bad picking it out I guess). First purchase when I got to Oahu was one of those touristy sarong thingies to go over it. I did wear the damn thing but thats because its Hawaii.

And I never wear summer clothes, except t-shirts. No shorts or skirts for me. If I do wear a skirt, its a long peasant skirt. Otherwise, its pants year round. I have tree stumps for upper legs and wide hips so shorts do nothing for me. I feel too exposed in summer shorts/shirts. I wish I could find cute clothes that fit nice.

Now summer shoes...I got every color of Old Navy 3 dollar flip flops possible..haha!

I do need to lose weight so thats part of my summer clothing insecurity. Sigh...never ending battle.

But I will loathe swimming suits until my last days...
