I don't like that term "saving yourself."
Im 37, divorced. Just left a 5 year live-with-partner relationship. I can't imagine saving myself for marriage again. Besides...i never saved myself for marriage to begin with. I was 19 when i lost my virginity to a guy who was my fiance. 2 years later i broke off the engagement. That did not stop me from having sex.
Cudo's to the girls who do still save themselves for marriage. You all have more will power than i ever did in my teens and twenty-somethings.
"Men ar not going to wait I am sorry but that is why men ask women out on DATES...hoping to get some after few dates and what not...sex is more important to a guy than anything else..."
Hmm. Dangerous statement there. I think that sex is important to men in general (and women - it is for me), but sex is not all there is. Many men do see the value of companionship, marriage, kids, friendship, etc. I don't think it's fair to classify men as a bunch of sex addicts. There are some after only one thing, but not all of them.
I think sex is a very important part of a good relationship, but that doesn't mean you have to dive right into that aspect of a relationship. It can wait if you're not ready.
Heather -- it will depend on the maturity level, values and upbringing of each particular man. I haven't waited for marriage, but it is a very personal choice. Don't let anyone tell you to do it "just to get it over with" or to "get a boyfriend" in the meantime. Do it when you know you're ready.
I have a dear friend who is now happily married for almost 5 years. While they were dating, her husband waited two years until she was ready to have sex with him. He loved and respected her and was willing to wait. Proof that not all guys will bail.
AJ, enjoying life with C.
