Well obsessive is the understatement of the year when it comes to my personal and/or household cleanliness so i absolutely totally agree with everything happychick said and sorry Shywon but i have to say that i would not be able to spend a minute in the environment that you are describing. But to each their own as they say.
I hate cleaning too. Mostly the bathroom and doing the dishes. R and I have agreed that I'll cook and he'll do dishes because I hate it so much. I also hate the tub in the bathroom and behind the toilet...I hate getting my head so close to the toilet....gross...
And hardwood floors....ugh....my apartment in Chicago was hardwood floors and I hated every second of it....in a high traffic area (in my case, my entire living space), they are bad news...dusty and dirty all the time no matter how much sweeping and mopping you do. In a dining room that isnt used that much...beautiful.
The two 'camps' will simply never get each other - I cannot explain to you how it makes me feel when I walk into someone's (never my own!!) kitchen and see bread crumbs on the surfaces, a stack of plates in the sink, food stains on the floor and an overflowing rubbush bin, and no matter how hard you tried, I don't think you could convince me that washing the bathroom once a week is enough!! I absollutely understand your friend, and have myself got what I believe are very very mild OLD tendencies, but not to the point of medication yet lolol...
There is a post in this thread where the poster lists different household jobs that she hates. HATE? Cleaning?? How do you mean, hate lol?? You hate the fact that it's dirty, but the actual process of making something that is dirty spotlessly clean is the most theraputic and enjoyable thing imaginable, wouldn't you say?? As a fellow clean freak of the century ( I know you well..) you will surely agree... xx
