I was wondering if you had ice - I saw on the news that it had hit your area.

I have electricity because our power lines are buried.

I've gotten a few compliments on mine already, too.

Hey Shy,

Was wondering about you. The whole storm thing kinda fizzled out for Chicago. We have snow and slush (not really ice, but its still slicker than heck) and it was supposed to get nasty and then it turned out it was too warm for us. We still have snow on the ground, maybe an inch. Now its just cold temps, hovering around 25 degrees.

Exciting? How exciting can a grad students life get? I'm in school 2 days a week and at my internship 4 days a week. Hmm.....my internship can get pretty nuts, just because of the population I deal with everyday. The really exciting part is in April when Im done!

Nothing bad really...just getting on the defensive when it comes to my mom and this wedding planning stuff. I feel like she wants to take over, even though she says she hasnt and wont. Grr..

Frustrated...weight loss. Good god, its always the same battles. I'm tired of it. I wish I could be like those high metabolic people that can ingest anything and everything and still be a size 6 or 8 (nothing smaller....I still like my curves). And I have to work on getting into a bathing suit by October..so thrilled at the thought.

You're over by Kansas City, aren't you? I'm in St. Louis and, yeah, we got hit pretty hard too.

I live in Bridgeton, which is northwest of the city, and we didn't get too much and never lost power, but the western suburbs (O'Fallon, Wentzville, St. Peters) got hit pretty hard. A lot of them are still without power. A lot of my co-workers are staying at hotels until Ameren can get them back up again.

And the big thing around here is the two boys that were found last week. They were found in Kirkwood, which is about 20 miles from where I live. In fact, Kirkwood is where I was doing my hospital clinical rotation for last semester. The story was pretty amazing.

And I'm doing the weight loss thing as well. I've been faithful for the last three weeks, going to the gym four to five days a week, watching what I eat and so forth. Sooo... when the does the weight actually start to come off?? I'm getting impatient.

Tonight I'm going home to watch the American Idol premier on my brand new 40 inch LCD TV. Can't wait!!

Sorry about all of the ice and snow. Although, you did get an extra day off b/c of it. My sister-in-law was hoping that we would get some white stuff in Nashville so that she would get today off too. No such luck. Just freezing temps and clouds. Sorry Jennifer!

The most exciting thing for me lately was watching the Golden Globes last night. Isn't that sad? I was actually playing with my dog through most of it so I only saw about a quarter of it. I missed Jennifer Hudson's win, darnit. Anyway, this is what I learned from watching what parts I saw: Hugh Laurie and Meryl Streep are very funny, I love America Ferrera's name and I now must see, Queen, Notes On A Scandal, Dream Girls and Volver!

Have you seen Dream Girls yet? I wasn't going to go see it but after all these awards . . . Are there movies that you are itching to see? I watch the Oscars every year and like to have seen most of the nominees before the award show. I have to play catch up this year.

I think I remember you indicating that you are NOT a celebrity watcher, but Angelina Jolie was behaving very strangely on the red carpet (pre-show) last night. She looked angry or something. Angry or not, she still looked gorgeous in my opinion. They had tried to cover her back tattoo with some kind of make-up, though, and when she turned around, it looked pretty bad. If you are going to get a rather large tattoo on your back, why bother covering it up? Everyone knows that it is there?

I was wondering about you and Jules as well.
