I'm snowed in

The news people get so excited at this stuff.  It's like they've never seen it before. Drives me crazy.

So I'm stuck at home and probably shouldn't go anywhere.  They're predicting 10-15 inches of snow. Anyone else snowed in?  I know I'm going to be bored today!

I'm really sick of winter by now, even though up until Feb. we really didn't have snow.  2 weekends ago, we had the big storm where we got 27 ins.--it was really hard to shovel out.  Last weekend we got about another 6 ins. which wasn't too bad to shovel--it was very light & powdery, but it was extremely cold & windy.  Wind always makes me nervous cause I'm afraid a tree is going to fall on my house or something, plus there's more chance of losing electricity.  Now the 3rd weekend in a row we are going to get snow but it's one of those where they haven't said how much.  since I'm near the coast it could also be rain, which would be nice.  We still have piles of snow in the street from 2 weeks ago.  This is interfering with my social life too!

Not yet but last week or week before we had three feet of snow .. It was cleared quick but if you saw the news on Long Island cars and people were stranded on  highways and all.. It was unbelievable.. A high official from the town had to quit because he got so many complaint from people that he didnt do his job.. I have no idea what happened/?

This weather has been nuts and I have been freezing.. My sis keeps the heat low because she says oil is too expensive and I pay rent but alot of other people are worse off than me..

When I go out its so cold and I bundle up and hoping and praying warm weather comes soon.. Just hanging in there until then......

well I hope you have food and snacks and are warm and just wait it out.. What else can you do?????

We might get another storm this weekend but they clear it pretty fast around these parts...

I did go to the grocery store last night, along with the rest of the city it seems. I also went to the pharmacy and got my new antibiotic- the infection in the cyst I had cut open turned out to be MRSA. I'm set as far as food and meds. I'm just afraid I'm going to want to eat all day! It's noon and I haven't showered yet. Music- it's interfering with my social life too! No trivia or karaoke tonight. Lots of businesses are closing. Hopefully they'll have the roads cleared by this weekend.

I'm so jealous.  All we've had all winter is one freeze which, was only on the cars & trees and two light dustings of snow - not even enough to make a snow ball :(

Glad you went to the Dr, staph is nothing to mess around with, Shy.  You should make a big pot of cabbage soup, it's good for you, filling and is easy on the waistline(and I like the flavor).

I do like cabbage, but it's at the grocery store. I am not at the grocery store. :-) I do have apples. They help my tummy. I've either lost 7 or 9 pounds at this point, depending on the reading. I have about ten more I'd like to lose. I've taken two naps today, and now I need to go run. I don't really want to, but I will. It's started snowing again. They just said we'd gotten six inches by noon. There are cars stranded everywhere. I am lucky in that if I really needed something, I am three blocks from a Walgreens and could walk. They've closed a ton of roads. Cfk- if I could, I'd send you some of it!!

Ugh, hate that "snowed in" feeling - and looks like this will be the third weekend in a row for us in New England.

Of course, there is always plenty that I *could* do in terms of projects, etc, but I hate not being able to get out.  The last two storms, I braved it to the Dunkin Donuts down the street by Sunday morning to get some interaction.  I am very grateful that I have not lost power in any of the major storms over the past few years, so I was at least stuck inside with heat and hot water.

Hang in there Shy - and hopefully it will clear out a bit by late tomorrow?!

The closest mountains to me are in Gatlinburg which would mean a 3.5 - 4 hour drive.  Snow is fun but I wouldn't travel for it.  Well, unless I could afford a week in Colorado or something ;)

Ugh! Yes, more snow. I live near the water so I am hoping for rain, but that isn't much fun either. When you said you went to Dunkin, it reminded me of watching the news in the big storm. One of the reporters was at a rest stop on the highway and he was interviewing a woman who had walked there to go get coffee at Dunkin & get out of the house, then the reporter told her it was closed! lol I know I have been eating so much more junk than usual being stuck in the house and I could be doing projects like cleaning more but I am not motivated.
