Do you ever just feel like you're running a race that everyone else has finished?
I feel like I'm so far behind with everything.

Oh yes, I think all of us can relate.
Ahh the SoP . Isn't that where you write the little white lies..or am I confusing that with something else ? :)
I felt like I was behind until about 2 months ago. I sat down and wrote out what was important that needed to be done and gave myself a lot of time to do it. I have been working 6 days a week lately, and sunday is my only day off. I use sunday to sleep late and work on one decluttering item. I limit myself to 2-4 hours, then I go do something fun. My house actually "breathes"better now that I have gotten rid of a lot of clutter. I am taking my time room by room. You may have to dedicate one or two evenings a week to "Homecaring". And try to turn on some music or something and make it enjoyable. The sooner we get the boring stuff done, the sooner we can play!:)

I stayed late at work last night and got some papers graded even though I had a horrible day and I just wanted to go home and cry.
Teachers have it rough, I think.
Yeah...I teach third grade, so that's not really an option.
Yeah, I know, but wouldn't it be nice once in a while! Maybe it's time to move up to 6th grade...lol. I just started teaching high school chemistry and even they bounce off the walls. My mentor was mentioning to me that you can't give the kids one minute of free time. Sure enough, I found out why.
Isn't it amazing how you just can't assign homework anymore without some sort of objection. I assign my students 5 minutes of homework a night and they won't even turn that in. I remember getting sent home with easily 1 hour of HW every night in 3rd grade and HAD to hand it in.
I hear ya on the going out part, I treated myself to dinner and a beer. The bartender asked me what I wanted to drink. So I ordered a blue moon. She asked in a glass or bottle, I told her I'll just take
Fourth grade is about as high as I could go.
