I agree with Wishful -- you will be fine and you will make it work. When I bought my place, my mortgage was $450 more than my rent at my apartment (which was, admittedly, low for the area), plus I added high HOA fees. When I had to buy a new-to-me
Just to let you know unless you are going to work as a cashier at Lowes it's not exactly going to be mindless. I worked at Home Depot and it was a lot of hard work. I worked in the flooring department and it was anything but mindless, I worked my butt off and I would imagine Lowe's especially in the summer being the exact same, Home Depot in the summer you aren't allowed to even have any days on the weekend off you are required to work every day on the weekend it was a lot of work.
I have worked many retail sales jobs. I worked minim 60 hours a week, very often in excess of 90 hours a week. All weekends. Because I only made money when I sold, and was not paid for a single hour I took up space in the store, I tend to study and train every product line to the point of being expert. I study design and installation, and fill in for the plumber, electrician, roofer, cabinet designer, etc as I sell in order to stand out be the GUY who GETS the sale, and as such gets not only paid, but referrals.
You really shouldn't dismiss a job as mindless unless you know the details. The kind of work LH did at Home Depot was not standing at a register and scanning and bagging.
I've been a teacher and I've worked high end retail. Frankly, the retail job was far more difficult and required knowledge in many different areas.
And sure - if you have the summer off, working every weekend is no big deal. But put in 8 hours, plus a few evenings and every weekend and see how quickly you burn out.

Shy honey, you are going to be A-OK :-)
AJ, enjoying life with C.
My good-faith estimate was $425 above what I'm paying now, but that's with HOA dues.

Did you have to take piles of homework home with you?
Wow! seriously.
I can't even respond to this...it just baffles me.
