Weekend plans everyone?

I know Schnappsers has a date tonight (right?)...we will need an update! Is this one a cop?

I think I'm going to go home and go to my cousin's wedding shower. I hadn't decided if I was going or not until about right now. But, it's something to do and I guess I can suffer through another blissfully happy couple. Besides, I can't go to the wedding, so I would feel bad if I didn't at least go to the shower.

Anyone else?

I'm doing nothing too exciting, except continue to settle into my new home after my nitemarish divorce. I'm SOOO happy there; it's such a joy to come home at nite, especially after the 15-mo debacle of my marriage when I dreaded coming home at nite, never knowing what I would find.

I'm installing a ceiling fan in my BR, and I'm still in search of a chest of drawers. My BR is in a Moroccan, wood-and-rattan style, so I'm having problems finding what I want w/o losing a limb. I'm expecting to replace my bed tonite; I fell through it last Fri, after I'd paid to have it assembled! It could've been worse; one of my cats could've been underneath when it fell...

I've still no social life--still too raw from the divorce. But that'll come in time...

Believe it or not, this one's actually not a cop! I'm meeting him right after work, so I had to find an outfit for which I had matching heels (the guy is 6'5" and I'm 5'7"). I wanted to get up a little higher so I can actually see his face!

The rest of the weekend won't be too exciting. My only plans are to go to the movies with a friend on Saturday and that's only if he doesn't find a date for a party he wants to go to (that I refuse to go to with him).

Ahh...let's try this again! My first post was lost.

Anyway, I am glad I'm not the old one with bed breaking issues. Mine has broken twice. My dad fixed it the first time and said it would never break again. Well, a few weeks ago, the little hook thing that holds it into the headboard cracked the wood and now it's broken again. I have five old phone books and several college textbooks holding it up now.

Your arm and a limb comment reminded me of something I heard in the grocery store a few weeks ago. I boy was begging for something, and his mom said that she couldn't get it because it cost "an arm and a leg." The boy's reply was "but I have an arm and a leg!" Cracked me up!

6'5"?? That's tall! I'm a shorty at just 5'3", so I think I'd need a ladder, not just heels!

I guess it's good that he's so tall....should be easy to identify him when I get there. I told him he's not allowed to sit down until I find him!

Tonight - seeing Capturing the Friedmans with one of my ivillage friends and another friend, tomorrow night seeing my boyfriend, Sunday we have a bris (my friend) and then unfortunately probably will attend a shiva call for my friend's father who died. Last night we went to the concert in central park - half the program was west side story and the fireworks at the end were awesome!

Not much going on. Going to bar tonight where my friend's boyfriend works. And going into work tomorrow - so much to do and so little time. I'm not sure about the rest of the weekend. Guess I'll just see what happens. I know, not too exciting!

I'm staying out of my mom's way tonight -- she's in a ROTTEN mood after dealing with stupid folks and her heart medication...

Tomorrow, I go to Great Adventure with my niece & her mom.

Sunday, don't know yet...

Bridal showers...what fun! I am off that circuit for a while...

I saw someone here was installing a ceiling fan. I have 2 of them, and I am not sure how to put them up...so much for making my place look "homey".

Unless you're mechanically inclined, I wouldn't try to install a ceiling fan. I got a handyman to do it for me.

To me, it's $$ well spent if I know that the fan won't come crashing down on me one day, or if I turn on the switch and fry myself. Ceiling fans used to be simpler to install, but no more--probably to make $$ for the manufacturers and installers.

Sometimes you can pay for installation where you bought it. Go back and ask--else you might ask people you know about finding a handyman.
