This morning I went out for my walk and passed a car that had had its driver's side window busted out.

Every now and then people used to go down our block, bust out the windows and take the toll money . . crack heads is my guess where I was . .. if they did not go after the stereos and such . . .cheaper to fix it on your own than to get insurance involved and the police wont "do" anything . . .so . . .could be a very "pragmatic" victim.

If I spot something like that, I'm the type to call the police (non-emergency number, of course) & say something like, "ummm, I'm not sure if there's a problem, but a couple of cars at my apartment complex had their windows broken out." If I remembered to get them, I might give the cops make/model/perhaps license plate.

I figure, if nothing else, it might give the cops a heads-up if there's a pattern emerging. That way, maybe they can cruise through the parking lot more often, that sorta thing.

On the one hand, it might be nothing. A totally random incident that will never happen again. On the other hand, it might just give the police some info that might connect up with something else that I know nothing about.

That was my thinking- That even if they don't do anything (which they probably wouldn't), it's kind of a civic duty to let them know something happened, in case is a crime spree.

Could be that they are friends and the same person wanted to get back at them. I know that happened to people a lot at my high school when people got into petty fights.

In any case, I agree that you should call the police and file a report just for a heads up.

I thought about that, too, since it seemed like they knew each other.

Probably because it's just kids with high powered rifles blowing out the windows rather than breakins. I've had my car window blown out and at first I thought it was someone breaking in to it but nothing was stolen I called the police, I filled out a report but the police man said it aws probably a bebe gun. Nobody paid for it except for me and the police can't really do anything unless they can catch the person doing it so it's just probably a common thing especially if they are parked on the street that's where my car was parallel to the street, they just drive by and shoot.

Did you hear the car alarm? Maybe you should have taken an action before the victim was attacked? But, then again, you don't want to get caught between a cross-fire between two parties. Did you ask them why they didn't report the vandalism to the police? Stay safe!

Shoot....if I came out and saw my window busted out, you better believe I'd be calling the cops!
