Oh I hear you! My oldest DD, her a**hole boyfriend lived here a few years ago right after my oldest grandbaby was born. I could handle the baby but NOT her boyfriend.
Baby or PITA gf/bf....he came home alone. Praise be!! It could be worse.
We've been busy setting him up in the spare room. Ugh. Thankfully he works almost FT so he can pay his own car/ins
But yeah, I am out a few hundred buying new bedding, lights and a new tv. (I splurged and FINALLY bought a flatscreen for the living room and gave him the fossil for his!!!) So maybe more than a few hundred $$$ but some was just to treat myself.
Thanks for the support! Not that I have been bringing anyone home but I am sort of mourning the fact that I can't anymore. BOO HOO
Oh; I know how you feel everyone.. My son is going on a vacation next week with his gfriend. He is 32 and I said well do you need extra money?? What a stupid question? I offered them a few weeks ago and they said no.. I was happy and thought oh; good... Now he says can we have the money you offered us.. ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Now I have to give them the money I promised.
He has been on his own forever and although I care I wouldnt ever want him back to live with me.. I am hoping and praying his gfriend never kicks him out.
Meanwhile I havent been on a vacation since 2008..gggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
True--I enjoy having my kids home & I actually miss my 23 yr old DD who moved out of state for work. But their DSS was single & had a baby 3 yrs ago & she & her fiance are finally buying their own house. My ex said to me that although he likes his DSD and the kid is adorable, he will enjoy having a quiet house.
Oh, Heather! My 20 y/o daughter reappeared a week ago - she was supposed to be in Europe working until November. I'm already exhausted, my home is messy, I'm depressed and she's needed a few hundred bucks that disappeared into some black hole somewhere in her life. Ugh! You have my complete sympathy.
That would definitely be a rule for me--kids can come back anytime, but no BFs or GFs. If they want to live together, they can get their own place.

He didn't warn me because all of my kids know that they can come home anytime....at least I assume that is the reason.
He went to his sister's to spend some time....they are Irish twins and probably tighter than any of my kids
Maybe there was a reason he didn't warn you? lol At least I knew when my DD was getting out of college.
