I was up late enough last night to watch Jay Leno.

Oh my gosh - I know!

I caught the episode on Monday. It originally aired in June of 1992! So different!

Since Johnny Carson had just retired (May of 1992) it was still Johnny's set - with the purple curtain, the wood desk and the seashore backdrop. The band was Winston Marsalis and the guest that night was Tom Hanks (looking like a skinny kid!) hawking his "new" movie - "A League of Their Own."

Quite different - maybe a touch classier, too. Seems like entertainment today aims for the lowest common denominator. I miss intelligence in entertainment. (Now I'm starting to sound like my folks.)

When I was visiting my dad for Thaksgiving I found an old box of videotapes of my sister and I when we were younger. Well anyways, one of the videotapes had an epsiode of Arsenio Hall Show on it and that brought back some memories! I didn't watch the whole thing because the tape was really snowy and worn down, but the few minutes that I saw took me back.

I'm not sure when it originally aired, but I caught an old Leno re-run the other night myself.
