I think I'm allergic to chocolate.

Yep, it may be true.

If you have headaches combined with confusion and nausea, you likely have migraines.

Migraines can be triggered by high amounts of: chocolate, red wine, corn, strawberries, orange cheese (yellow #5 dye) and (for me) peanut butter. It's not true for everyone, but it is for a lot of people.

They can also be triggered by other things, like bright lights and weather changes.

You might try eating less, or trying not to combine the above foods.

What a bummer if you have to give up chocolate!!

I'm not sure if they are migraines or not because the headaches that I have gotten this week haven't been all that strong.

Yes, I used to get severe migraines - but they have become more mild in recent years. (I get the flashing light thing all the time and mild headaches, but rarely the killer headache)

For the chocolate, it could be the kind of chocolate you're eating and the additives. But, it's a good idea to avoid it and reintroduce it slowly to see what happens.

I kind of figured that it was a specific kind and/or additive because hot chocolate has never bothered me.

aweeeeeeee....well, just the same ..it could also be a temporary thing. About a month ago i was on the phone with my sister and she was telling me that she had a bowl of oatmeal and a cup of tea for breakfast....like she normally does...and she broke out in hives. she figured she could be allergic to tea. This month i heard from here and asked her about it and she is still drinking tea and hasn't had a reaction since...and she is eating her oatmeal too. good luck.

I know a girl who is the same way. She still likes chocolate, too. Who doesn't!?! But unfortunately she can have at most .5 ounce at a time. Sad, really.

I have a food allergy, too. Fortunately, it's not as common as chocolate or peanuts. But it does make it difficult to eat one of my favorite foods: sushi. I'm severely allergic to wasabi (Japanese horseradish). In fact, I'm allergic to radishes of all kinds. I also can't have cocktail sauce for the horseradish in it. Just one tablespoon of the stuff will make me feel like I have the stomach flu. Wasabi is the worst, though. Just a tiny bit can make my mouth swell. And if I swallow any, it means next stop: emergency ward.

Well, I can't survive without my chocolate, but that's because it has some kind of enzyme that boosts mood. But that's only because my life fairly sucks (okay, I'm downplaying my problems again; in truth, it sucks quite a bit). If you're life doesn't suck, you don't NEED chocolate. But, for most of us, it does.
