So I have an excuse to wear that fabulous dress.

A refresher...the dress : http://www.overstock.com/sm-j-kara-asymmetrical-beaded-cocktail-dress--pg-proframe_pi-1651573_ti-82124.html

The shoes: http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/15598847/c/632.html

One of my classmates is turning 29 on Thursday so Friday, we're hoping to go into this ritzy lounge for a drink...cant afford the meals...and then...

We're going Latin dancing! I've never been and I dont know how....anybody ever been latin dancing??? Apparently, the men have no qualms about asking you to dance and they dont really care if you dont know how...I'm so nervous about this and would rather just watch everybody else do the cha cha cha (my classmate knows this dance), rumba and meringue!! I would rather look hot (cuz daaamn I'm gonna in that outfit) and drink sangria by the pitcher!!! And my last few experiences out dancing havent been good (stupid frat boys feeling me up!! Hello, I'm attached, leave me alone!!!)

It sounds fun and amusing...but I'm nervous!!!

She hasnt really decided where she wants to go yet. There are a few Latin clubs in town..she called Nacional 27 but decided that a reservation was too spendy.

We're going to attempt to get into the Signature Room at the top of the Hancock Tower for a drink.

It should be fun!!

if you can walk, you can merengue. salsa, bachata and the cha-cha-cha are a little harder to do because their basic step is a little more involved, but merengue is, really, just like walking.

Merengue is written in a 4/4 tempo, so it's a pretty easy rhmtym to catch on to. The basic step is this: with your right foot, step to the side, and drag to close with the left. Step side, drag to close. or Step forward (or back), drag to close. Any good dancer should be able to lead you in this dance easily, and all you have to do is just follow the leader's sway and move your feet. with practice these steps will all come to you naturally and in due time.

good luck, and have fun!

The view at teh Signature Room is nice. If it's too crowded there, you can always head over to the Four Seasons across the street and have a drink in their lounge. I have never been to Nacional 27 but I heard that it's fun - crowded, but fun.
