At least we haven't dated THIS guy

This has got to be, by far, the worst first-date-gone-wrong story I have ever heard. I mean, I've dated some losers, but this guy takes the cake.

It takes awhile to listen to the voice mails on the link, but it's worth it:

AJ, enjoying life with C.

Oh, lordy!! What a blockhead is right!

I cannot believe you are actually sending him a check though! Can't you just block him from emailing you?

I can't believe i am, either. But he got so freakishly angry about me not being interested, and then harped on the money so much that I feel afraid NOT to send it now. I already said I would, in the heat of the argument. I wrote, "I'll send you the money, but not because I think you are owed it, but because I think it's the only way you'll leave me alone and drop this. After this reply, I'm blocking your email."

He really has a warped world view, which is a big part of me getting bad vibes and telling him I'm not interested. He has skewed expectations about how people and the world are supposed to be, and I know I'd never reason with him.

I just can't believe he'd accept the money.

Well, whatever you do, don't send him a check that has your personal information on it!

Frankly, I think this is a valid exception to "doing what you say you are going to do" but I can understand why you feel the way you do.

Oh no, definitely not sending a check! I haven't decided if I'm just sending cash or a money order. (Probably the money order, just to have the stub to prove that I sent it, in case it gets lost. I don't think he'll drop it if the money never arrives!)

It's amazing that I forgot about this guy months ago, and here I am, sending him money because I don't like him! *shaking my head*

Hehehe....don't forget to subtract a couple more dollars for the cost of the check, then envelope, and the stamp.

HA! I thought of that! Maybe I should....seeing as I offered him the money the first time and he didn't take it!

I wish I could send a skywriter up above his town to write his name and draw his portrait, to warn other women about what a creep he is!

Update: I sent the guy a modified amount of money via money order, with a note that explained the modified amount (deduct some here for the movie snacks of his that I'd paid for, etc.) He didn't like it, so he sent me a message through MySpace, this time with an itemized list (like I'd requested in the first place, knowing he wouldn't be happy til he did), where he claims I owe him $19.23 more. Yes, folks, he's talking about 23 cents.

I wrote back to tell him exactly why I don't owe him anything (and I really don't, even if you think that someone deserves "rebates" in dating--and they don't. The math adds up that I owe him nothing). And then I blocked him, and for good measure, quit MySpace. (I wasn't using it much anyway.)

The man is INSANE.
