Lies!

Been a while since i've posted on here. Hi everyone! So I met a guy online who i've been messaging back and forth with but haven't met. He just told me he was lying about something but we should meet and see if we click before he tells me. Of course I badgered him until he told me and it turns out hes 42 instead of 32! It started out because he wouldn't send me more pics which made me suspicious. Also, i'm 30 years old. When I told him it wasn't ok that he lied to me and it wouldn't work he called me a judgemental hypocrite and then started blasting me with angry messages! What is with men?! He says everyone lies and of course I lie as well so not accepting him for his true age makes me a hypocrite. Ladies, have you experienced this ridiculousness?

This type of thing is one of the reasons I'm not doing OLD anymore. I never had a situation like the one you describe, but I have had men write nastygrams back to me when I sent them a "Thanks, but no thanks" email.

People lie for search purposes or so I have been told. On a dating site most people dont type

As I said, that is one reason I don't do OLD.

I never lied in a profile and I'd cut things off with someone if I found out he did.

oh; yeah that guy did lie way too many years but the way I look at it is she could have just met him and had some fun for the night. Life is short. By he way my son is 31 and his gfriend is ten years older.. They live together and I dont judge. I like her alot and she has three kids and I am very happy for them. They met IRL..and it is what it is. I feel like I raised someone with morals and values and didnt get caught up on age and race and all.. (go figure)

Hey; I am having my own age issue with a guy right now. see other post about fling..

He is 50

People lie for a reason. It's usually to cover something up. I wouldn't say that everybody does it...some might say that someone looks nice when they really don't but that's not the same as saying your are a decade younger than you said you were...that's not a lie that's called deceit :)

One of my best friends, at the time, lied and said she had graduated from college on her resume. Then she repeated the lie during the interview and got the job. I was beside myself. I didn't say anything to her, but I know she knew I was shocked. I just couldn't do that sort of thing...and it's not for fear of being caught - it's just wrong in my mind.

I do think that's the difference between a dating site & meeting IRL--if you met someone IRL and thought they were good looking & nice enough, maybe you wouldn't then care so much about their age.

Well if they do check, she will certainly be fired.
