Lonely on the weekends

After several months of not being able to sign on and post on the boards, I've finally made success!

Ok, now that's over, does anyone ever feel a little depressed on the weekends?  Seems like I'm perfectly fine during the work week because I'm busy and my mind doesn't tend to go idle.  I do look forward to the weekends just so I can sleep in!  But when I have nothing planned, I tend to either clean or do laundry, read, or watch a film.  I just settled into my new place after moving a little over a month ago so I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.

I'm just curious if anyone else has felt this way.

~hugs~

I sometimes feel lonely to but like you it's more on the week-ends...

During the week I am busier but look forward to some down time...

I moved recently to although my ds and I have settled in...

We moved to a new city went through some losses but actually feeling so much better.

This week though has been tough...:(...About a month ago we had a death in our family and also my dad has some serious health issues...he was in the hospital and now is in a Retirement Home...

I escaped an "Abusive" relationship but found the No Contact easier for me than him...

Other things going on so I am concentrating on me...

It depends; some weekends, I don't even think about it and other times it can get a little lonely.  I blame myself, though.  I never plan.  There are only so many activities that I can afford or want to do though, so planning things with others always seems like a challenge.  I remember wayyy back when, I had an AOL account and there was a board for activity partners.  I used to meet up with a gal to play tennis.  Have you tried meetup?

That's kind of like me, I stay busy most of the time especially during the work week.  I still live in the same state just moved to a different side of town because A. - it's more affordable and B. - it's closer to work.  There's an agriculture center close by that has hiking trails.  I cut through there on my way to work in the morning and see people walking them.  I really should do that.  I'd go after work in the evenings but it's stinking hot right now it's unbearable.  But I could probably go over there early on a weekend morning when the temps aren't too bad.

Like I was telling Shy, I've thought about looking into that meetup.com website to check out interests in my area.

I'm glad I finally got logged in, too!  I couldn't figure out what in the world was going on.  I emailed iVillage support about a month ago.  No response.  Sigh.  At least I'm in now.

It's funny because some of my friends who are married and/or have children, want my life of peace & quiet on the weekends.  And then I wish I had their life, just to keep me occupied and busy.  I do spend time w/friends on the wknds as time permits.  But when I have nothing planned, my mind goes idle & I worry over things I have no control over.  I've seriously thought about that meetup.com website to check out things in my area that may be of interest.  Oh, and I've subjected myself to online dating.....again.  Ugh lol

I used to feel that way.  I've been divorced from 2nd DH 5 yrs and I have kids from my 1st marriage (got that?)  So on the weekend that my son would be at his dad's, usually I'd just go walk around the mall and buy stuff because I didn't know what else to do with myself.  I figured I needed to do things so I could have a social life.  This weekend I didn't do much, except Friday night, which was very unusual.  Most of the time I am busy.  So I think if you are generally bored, you have to look around to find things to do & make some friends.  If you are in a new area, go look around to places you have never been before, go to a museum or something like that.  Occasionally I'll be enjoying the quiet and just rent a movie at home, but if you do it too long it gets old.

I do if it's been a long stretch of no social life. Right now since it's summer, my life is pretty solitary. My weekends save me from getting really depressed as long as I have something to do. If I don't, I usually end up being really lazy. It gets really old. I hear friends with kids talk about how they'd love to have more time to themselves. What they don't realize is that after a couple of days, it's not all that great.

So glad you could get logged on again!  I know it's a pain. We're one of the few boards that's still active, and I plan to keep it that way!
