I was sitting in the waiting room of my doctor's office this morning, waiting to get my pap done when I had a thought.

So, is your engergy zapped b/c of the meds or because of the allergies themselves? I didn't realize allergies could do that to a person but it makes sense. As you may or may not remember, I suffer from them as well but haven't been very proactive as far as meds. Still doing the over the counter thing.
I prefer a female doctor. I had the horror of going to Planned Parenthood when I was in my early twenties and encountered not only a male practitioner there, but medical students as well. Yes, a room full of people saw my va-jay-jay. Why I agreed to let the students come in and watch my examination, I have no idea. Maybe it was all of those drugs I was doing at the time.
I've never had an annual done by a female. Doesn't bother me one way or the other.
But my sister once went to a female fertility specialist and she was an absolute be-yotch. And there's a woman OB/GYN in our area who refuses to prescribe BC or refer patients for abortions - even with health issues involved. I can understand sticking to your religious principles, but not at the cost of your patients - so I gotta say, the two women OB/GYN's I'm familiar with aren't exactly recommendations for the rest of our gender.
I've always gone to a male GYN. I think I'd feel funny going to a woman. I also prefer male massage therapists (the one woman I went to had kind of a whimpy grip).
As to your allergies: I don't have them, but I saw a cool thing on Oprah. It's called a "(something) pot." It looks like a little plastic watering can and you fill it with warm water and flush out your nose with it. OK, I know that sounds really weird, but the woman who used it live on the show came back weeks later and said it really worked. You could go to oprah.com and find out about it. Could be worth a try.
My appt. is coming up this week. I have been to both doctors and didn't mind either way. My doc in Texas was a man, and he saw more of me than I care to remember. He was really good, and would talk to me to keep my mind off things.
Now that I'm back home, my doctor is a woman. I'm used to her.
There are pros and cons to both. I feel better knowing that SHE has to do this, too. But there are also some women OB/GYNS who have the bedside manner of
I'm not sure if it's the meds or the allergies themselves.
Ya know, I've had a mix of experiences with each gender as far as regular appointments go.
I haven't seen that Oprah, but my best friend is a respiratory therapist and she's told me about the solution you can use to clean stuff out.
