I was sitting in the waiting room of my doctor's office this morning, waiting to get my pap done when I had a thought.

When it comes to "down there" I have always gone to a women doctors. I am sure it is all in my head, but they have to go through it too, so I feel they know all the right things to say and do. Just my experience, though. I am sure there are a lot of great male OB/GYN doctors out there....
Are you going to an allergist for your allergies? I only ask because I have allergies and asthma. For about 12 years, my GP was not treating my asthma correctly. It was not until I went to my new GP who explained that I needed more then just my albuteral inhaler to treat it. Allergist actually test to see what you are alleric to and then treat you. My other GP doctors just kept giving me new meds all the time. Kind of like, "if this doens't work, then try this" over and over.... Nothing was right. Now my alleries and asthma are much more under control.
Yes, be sure to get the "recipe" from a doctor, otherwise you can end up when an infection worse than what you started with . . . I found a link for the Neti Pot, but I think you're right, I think most anything with a spout of sorts would work, as long as it's sterilized.

I prefer a female doctor. I find that interesting about the chlymidia (sp?) test as if you couldn't contract it after a certain age. Very odd.
Anyhow, have you ever tried Xlear? It's a nasal wash found at health food stores and it's non addicting, I love it, it's made with xilotol (sp?) the same stuff that's in gum anyhow, it's a more natural way to clean the nostrils of allergens, basically almost like using a netty pot which by the way have you ever considered just using a netty pot and cleaning out your nostrils. LOL

I might have to look for that stuff at the store.
