Men in jewelry stores...

...OK, I guess I just ask these offbeat questions, based on day to day experiences...last week or so, I wondered what it means if a man has a home cooked leftover dish for lunch every single day...

This week, and this is based on many experiences in fine jewelry stores...is it just me, or would it bother any other women here, if you were in a jewelry store that specializes in diamond jewelry, picking up a ring you had repaired, or looking at something to buy yourself, and a man was in there, buying an ENGAGEMENT RING, (LOL, I don't think men shop for engagement rings for their sisters) and this man sitting there asking to see every engagement ring, starts coming over to you, a lone woman, trying to strike up a flirtation or more. What is this??

And this one jewelry store in particular, when I go in there alone, this kind of thing happens 9 out of 10 times I go in there to have work done or pick up a piece I have had sized. I feel that if my betrothed were trying to cozy up to lone women while they were picking out my engagement ring, this would bother me a lot. Are they trying to prove that they still "have it" or something? Am I the only one who would be bothered by this type of thing..??

Yeah, I'd be bothered by it. Are you sure these men aren't just being friendly? Maybe you are a striking woman and they are just nervous around you and so it appears as if they are being flirtatious? See, men do not usually approach me because I am horrible at small talk. If a man picking out an engagement ring tried to strike up an convo with me, I'd probably just nod and walk away, LOL. Do you have one of those bubbly, contagious personalities? Maybe you're right and these guys are just plain ignorant. Or, maybe they are not in the store to purchase these items at all, maybe they are there in order to pick up women, but that wouldn't make any sense b/c they could look at watches or something . . .
