Okay guys I'm an 18 year old female living all the way up in the AK. I'm a freshman in college and decided that due to financial difficulties, I'll have to move out of the college dorms into my moms house or my uncles home. I don't know what to choose. I never lived alone:

Moms house: She'll give me no freedom and constantly boss me around.

Uncle's house: Whatever I want, but my family said I can't bring anybody in there! Girls or Boys!( FYI, my uncles in Iraq so the house is being take care of by my Aunty.)

I DON"T WANT TO BE LONELY, yet I don't think I can take much more of my mother. Maybe if I just never come home until I want to go to sleep(at my uncles) I'll be okay.

HELP! WHAT SHOULD I CHOOSE BECAUSE SOCIALIZING IS MY LIFE!

Well, that's quite a decision! I'd say go with your uncle's place. It's not a big deal to not be able to have guys over as long as you have a little more freedom in other areas. I left home (kind of) at the tender age of 15--to boarding school. No guys allowed in the dorm rooms, but I could do just about anything else I wanted, which was great. Good luck!

Stay with your uncle, it will be a good experience for you! Living on your own is a little overwhelming at first but you'll quickly adjust. You uncle not wanting people he doesn't know in the house is understandable. That just means that you'll have to hang out at their houses and you'll probably be grateful for the chance to get out and socialize. Plus after a little bit of time your family may trust you to have your best girl friend over, especially if they've met her.

Go for it, living on your own is a lot of fun and you can do whatever you want! You can even let the dishes sit in the sink for three days if you wish, haha. Of course I wash them right away, but it's nice knowing that I could!

I'm with the others. I think the uncle's is a good choice. As evil indicated, maybe they'll cave after a while and allow a close friend to come over.

I agree with the uncle's house. You can try out living on your own, and if your mom sees you doing a good job taking care of things there, she may loosen up a little. Plus, it sounds like your mom is close by if you want to eat or sleep there once in a while. I think that everyone should live on their own at some point, and you don't always have the opportunity. If it doesn't work out, then I guess you could move in with your mom.
